Do You Satan Worship Sometimes?

You would have to wonder how deep one would have to be with the devil in order to actually worship Satan himself. Do you consider Satan worship to be someone who clothes themselves in a black robe and dances around a pentagram and circle drawn on the floor, with lit up candles in a dark room? If you think that is Devil worship, then you are partially correct. You may have not realized that there are other ways to worship the Devil besides performing rituals in occult places. There are individuals who are members of the Church of Satan and they do worship him with these types of rituals then there are others who do not even mention the name Satan and still worship him much the same.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We are at a place in society today where a person can now decide for themselves what is to be considered right and wrong. The moral compass of society has been removed and we as a “civilized society” now have less of a gauge to help others know what is proper. Although society has always had that choice to make, there has always been a standard in life that helps us gauge that moral compass. Until recently, it has been the Bible which led this nation to set the laws that we have had in place. In the eyes of the public all that is seen are the two opposing political sides fighting for their own rights. The one side is fighting for social rights to choose for yourself and remove any religious “negativity” that would prevent you from doing so. The other side is barely hanging on in the fight to prevent them from winning the political battle.

How can you know what side to be on and where to draw the line in things of this world?

Both sides of the political realm have removed their sight from the the ultimate source of truth and neither can be trusted. The truth starts in the Word of God. Scripture says that we should all be fully persuaded in our own mind. God gave us the Holy Spirit to show us the way to truth and we as his children and servants should represent the Father in best way that we can. Have you spent time reading the Word of God from day to day, or are you comfortable attending your church service every Sunday and accepting everything that your Pastor feeds you? There is more to following Christ than just following the guidelines of a Preacher. Every Preacher has their own message that God has placed in their hands and there is a time when you will have to dive into the Word for further growth. Your Pastor can only take you so far before you are loosed to carry yourself the rest of the way.

Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Knowledge comes from having a personal relationship with the Father. We are all part of the body of Christ and should never lack in teaching and exhorting one another. We also need to be part of the growing process of the Church.

I Worship Only God

So what is worship? That is an entirely different study on its own but the short version is this: Worship is ultimately the complete sacrifice of yourself to the lord that you serve.

Joshua 24:15

…choose this day whom you will serve…

Keep in mind that this definition of worship could summarize every part of scripture you will find on how one should serve our Lord Jesus Christ. So with this in mind we can look at how it is possible that an individual could worship the Devil and not even know it.

You may be thinking to yourself that since you have given your life to Christ, pray everyday, attend service twice a week and do public charity you are a faithful servant to God. If you do these things, you do well. When we look at scripture, we see that Israel thought the same when fulfilling the laws of God. We also see that the other nations and people made sacrifices to their gods and God’s anger was kindled when the Israelites, His people, would follow after their vain ways. Today we sacrifice daily to our worldly gods but because we are not exposed to the knowledge of the spiritual nature we possess, we do not realize that we are in fact sacrificing to them. We are taught that a sacrifice requires the life and blood of a living creature by placing it on an altar to a specific god. That is not always the case as we can see in scripture where it says that we ourselves are a living sacrifice.

Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Can you see that each individual is a sacrifice and naturally gives himself away on a daily basis? The question then remains, to who or what are you sacrificing yourself to? Paul is imploring the Church to present themselves as a holy sacrifice, acceptable unto God. Jesus said that one should pick up their own cross and follow him. In other words, as he carried his cross to give his own life to the Father, so should we give our lives to the Father through service to his Kingdom, daily. The closer we get to the Father in our relationship with him the more we want to please him and not ourselves. There are many things that we partake of in this world that have no offense to God and are good in His sight. We need to remember that although we are but pilgrims on a journey through this world, we still live here and can not ostracize ourselves. We need the fellowship with freinds and family by getting together and having a wholesome time. We need the discernment of the Holy Ghost to help understand what are the things that are beneficial to our spiritual growth and what things are not so can purge them from our lifestyle. There is a line that can not be crossed and we need boundaries in our lives to protect us from the spiritual obstacles that do come our way.

But Devil Worship, Really? I Have Never Prayed to Satan.

True, you may have never prayed nor kneeled to Satan and probably do not think of him at all on a daily basis. You do not have to acknowledge your master in order to be a servant of him. What I mean by this is that even though a person does not invoke the name of his master, the actions taken shows the reverence to the master. Paul said that your sacrifice to God was to be a holy sacrifice. And how was one to give holy sacrifice? Verse 2 says:

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

So by renewing your own mind by putting on Christ to be a separated people from among the world, you are doing the will of God and thus fulfilling the complete sacrifice unto him to perfection. How can a person who is fully submitted to a king do the deeds and pleasures of another king? That is known as treason and he is guilty of death. Take this and apply it to the daily desires of the flesh. At an extreme level, the world is entertained with lusting after worldly possessions and sexual immorality. But even desiring the “fun times” that the world offers like Halloween is a form of sacrificing to your flesh.

Yes, It is well known by now that Halloween originated in the celtic customs and was based around human sacrifices and witchcraft and not to mention that it later became a time to celebrate the dead by offering up sacrifices to keep them from haunting the people. Yet, knowing that, Christians, who sincerely want to do the will of God, actually fulfill the lust of the flesh, putting into practice these occult rituals by sacrificing ourselves to the festival. Setting aside the holiness of God, we go after that which is unpleasant to his sight. We fulfill the will of our flesh when we go after vain practices and thus giving ourselves up as a unholy sacrifice. This is the complete opposite of doing the will of God. Sadly, we put little to no thought into the fact that we are not doing the will of God when we participate in these types of practices which are clearly targeted towards evil. We are instead doing the will of Satan which is to ultimately please ourselves.

Back To The Beginning

The serpent did not directly tell Eve to follow him, instead through his subtly, he planted the notion in her mind that she should do what pleased her the most. In turn she ended up taking his advise, pleasing her own desires (to become wise) and “following him” as he was the father of self-worship. When your eyes are off of God and his Kingdom, you are bowing down to idol worship and these actions open doors for other things to creep in. We must not allow ourselves to try and justify why we should be able to do things only for a moment of pleasure.

If you find yourself ever questioning whether or not a thing is good for a Christian to do and try to justify it with “well it isn’t really God based and there is some inappropriate content but I’m strong enough to overcome the evil part of this”, then you may just be battling a flesh desire to sacrifice yourself to that thing. When you completely give yourself in exchange for some temporary pleasure in things like:

  • Carnival / Festivals
  • Drug Additions
  • Game Addiction
  • Pop Culture
  • Sexual Desires / Porn
  • Dirty Joking
  • Pagan Holidays (Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc.)

you are giving yourself to Satan worship and fulfilling the will of the enemy of God. You can not by any means serve two masters. You have to make your choice today for God has spoken and said that he will surely spue out the lukewarm believers who are neither cold nor hot. God does not find pleasure in him that tries to do God’s will and the will of the flesh. We will battle the flesh every day and that is part of the fight and that’s ok. When you habitually give in to the desire and try to justify your actions by saying “well, it was only a few episodes” or “as long as we do not call it Halloween, it isn’t Halloween”. You can sugar coat it how ever you would like and whatever makes you happy but God knows the heart and He is the ultimate judge.

In Closing

Satan’s goal isn’t to get you to bow down to him or to say some satanic prayer by any means but to simply get you to turn your eyes from the Father. Even in doing the smallest thing outside the will of God to please your flesh, you fulfill the enemy’s will. That is the sacrificing of yourself to his will and becoming his servant because you have accomplished the task that he has set himself out to do. You can overcome the desires of the flesh by submitting yourself to God daily. Pick up your cross by sacrificing all those ungodly desires and follow Jesus. The enemy will always try to paint you a beautiful picture on how its ok to take his holiday and rename to a more Christian oriented meaning. That is the oldest trick in the book and we should be able to see right through those schemes when they cross our paths.

Brother or sister, keep your eyes on the prize which is Jesus Christ. Love not this world for the love of the world does not contain an ounce of God’s love. God didn’t send his Son to die so that we could obtain treasures here on earth but that we may have a way to separate ourselves from it in order to have eternal life in him.

When we are in love with the Lord and we desire to have a real relationship with Him we want to do everything we can to please him and by letting go of the things we do that don’t please Him we will find our relationship will get deeper, more personal, and better than we could have ever imagined!

Amen Lucas. It is hard to let go of things that we have held on to for years but the closer we are with the Lord, the easier it will get. I am glad you enjoyed this article.
