Every branch must produce fruit in order for it to continue living. When a branch receives nutrients from a vine, it produces good fruit that may be enjoyed. When a branch dries, it must be removed by the vine dresser. It is removed in order for the branches that produce good fruit not to be hindered from growth. The vine dresser is the Father and the vine is His Son, Jesus the Messiah.
John 15:5-6 NASB95
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
