All throughout the scriptures, we see that God has always wanted one thing from us. That is to hearken to his voice. This is such a powerful message because it shows us the type of relationship God wants with us. From the beginning of time, the words of God have always guided mankind. But because of sin, God’s presence could not dwell with us. Therefore his word could not dwell in us. So he placed his words on stone.
And in the process of time his words became personified in the person of Jesus. When Jesus came in to rip the veil and allow us to enter the holy of holies, the same word from the beginning now dwells within us. God wants for us to hearken to his voice once again.
And faith comes by the hearkening of his voice.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
